- Depth. Deeper points need more pipe, more jetting time and more fuel. Beyond roughly 8 metres of suction lift, the whole approach stops working and the conversation changes to a borehole.
- Ground conditions. Clean sand is quick. Clay, calcrete and buried rubble slow the job and raise the chance of an abandoned attempt.
